My Guys

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

Over the next few posts I’ll be talking about my sweet boys.  I’ll include the attachment parenting challenges that I’ve had with them as well as the “sweetness and light” stuff that all mommy love to gush over.

I’ve yet to decide if I want to use my children’s real names and their pictures so for now I’ll post adorable shots of the backs of their heads.  You’ll love it.  Really.  They have gorgeous brown curls.  Biased?  Me??  Why, I haven’t a clue what you mean.

I’ll call them by their nicknames:  Bug, Bear and Bean.  Yeah, I wanted to call him “Bird” but his brothers insisted on “Bean”.  *shrug*

Well, I must be off to put away the groceries.  Too bad I forgot to buy bon bons this week.  They go so well with my favorite daytime shows. Muahahaha.

The Beauty of Co-Sleeping

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

My youngest is 16 months old and sleeps in a crib in my room.  If I am still in bed when he wakes, we snuggle for a bit before getting up.  Co-sleeping has always been such a beautiful part of attachment parenting for me. Breathing together through the night, snuggling and the ease that co-sleeping lends to the breastfeeding relationship make co-sleeping one of the sweetest AP practices.

Even though none of my boys are co-sleeping with me or my husband on a regular basis anymore, my older two sleep share often in their own room.  I’m sure that my youngest will eventually join them from time to time as he gets older.

The Attached Mother

My first post in my brand new bloggity blog. :-)
I’m excited to share my experience as an attachment parent. The road has not always been easy and with my oldest nearing his sixth birthday, I have many years of AP’ing to come. I’m up for the challenge because I believe what I’m doing is the best I can do for my beautiful boys.
I feel honored to have the chance to share bits of my life with other parents who are interested in attachment parenting.

About The Attached Mother

The Attached Mother is about the real-life experiences of an attachment parenting mom. Allison writes about her parenting ideals such as co-sleeping, gentle discipline, child-led weaning, baby wearing and how she applies them with her three young sons.
