Is your child a picky eater?
by Allison Goines
Relax! That is my PSA for parents of picky eaters. Just frickin’ relax. They won’t starve themselves. Do not, do not, do not make food a battle with your child. It’s not healthy for either of you.
Now, for the truly helpful portion of this post. ;-P

I completely agree with you! My children have all gone through picky stages, with my youngest by far the worst because her oral motor difficulties. I refuse to make food a battle in my home. They’ll eat when they’re hungry, and parents don’t need to be short order cooks either. We make healthy snacks available and at meal times we tell them to take what you want, but eat what you take. They’ve become remarkably good at judging just how much to take so there is very little waste at the end of a meal and they’re not gorging themselves. They like the freedom of being able to make choices for themselves, and it saves me from having to remember who likes/doesn’t like what and how much to dish up for each.
